This 3 week follow-on course is designed to improve your beekeeping practices and help you to further your understand the workings of the hive and the honeybee. Now that some of our Long Garden Bee-ginners have had their first beekeeping season, it’s time to evaluate what you have learned and the inevitable human errors that come with being a beekeeper.
The three sessions will cover:
- The Beekeeping Year
- Swarm Management
- Theory v Reality
- Questions and answers each night
This course is for those who have already completed the ‘Bee-ginner Course’ with Long Garden Bees, or indeed any beginner course. It is not essential to have your own colonies, however, knowing the reality of beekeeping and bringing your own beekeeping experiences will enhance this course.
The sessions are held online and will be held next Autumn after Beginner Beekeepers have had a chance to put their new skills to the test.
This course is NOT suitable for those who are ‘Complete New-bees’; we will not cover all elements of beekeeping. If you are interested in becoming a beekeeper, please check out our ‘Bee-ginner Course‘.
